Top Ten for the week of 3/22/2010

Last week, there were around 20 less moves than we normally track, but there were still some interesting additions. Dave Duffield's company, Workday, added another former Peoplesoft exec to their team (Mark Nittler as VP Applications Strategy). Probably the most interesting addition was for eMeter, who added Gary Bloom as their new CEO. Gary was CEO at Veritas when they were acquired by Symantec and served as President at Symantec after the acquisition. Before that he served as EVP at Oracle. Another successful high tech executive crossing over into the green energy space. I am sure there are more to follow.

Last week, Oracle added several former Sun executives to their executive page. Several months ago, I noted the migration away from companies that had received bailout money from the government and the difficulty that they were having attracting new executives. Bank of America ended up paying all of the bailout money back, nearly $20 Billion for a new CEO. I already cover several Insurance companies with my Executive update crawler and will work to add as many as I can find over the coming weeks to see what kind of impact the new Healthcare bill will have on them.

Top Ten for the week of 3/8/2010

In the past year or so since I started publishing the Pulse newsletter, I have recorded 5 executive additions to AOLs corporate executive page that have come from Google. The latest, David Eun was removed from Google's executive page two weeks ago and added to AOLs last week. Will this erupt into a rivaly like we saw with Microsoft / Google a couple of years ago? There were rumors back in 2008 that Google might acquire AOL. Could this be part of a plan to take AOL over in the future?

David Eun, President, AOL Media and Studios at America Online, Inc. / AOL LLC

Top Ten for the week of 3/1/2010

One thing that I found interesting about last week's executive moves was that, while we had one of the biggest move counts since we started the Pulse blog, this was the first week with no new CEOs added from external hires. There were CEOs that were removed from executive pages, but they were all replaced by internal promotions. Turnhere and Leapfrog both promoted someone that was previously on the executive team to CEO. I don't track title changes for the blog because it would end up being 20 pages long, but I do track them in my database.

Last week, NetStreams acquired by ClearOne. Tele Atlas North America acquired by TomTom. GotVoice was acquired by Spoken back in October 2009 and this week the executive page for GotVoice now contains all Spoken execs.

Lots of great additions this week. Google added 4 new executives to their Executive Page (not all listed in Top 10) and Juniper added two former Cisco Executives to theirs. I would add all of my executive moves to the Pulse blog, but it would get out of control really fast.
